Gathering
The previous kitchen, bar and living room were separated spaces bathed in off white colors, low ceilings, and undistinguished materials. Today the kitchen, bar and living room are combined into one central gathering space inclusive of a turn table and vinyl collection that reverberate music throughout the home. The new gathering space is a single space filled with potential. The balanced composition of elegant tile, horizontal walnut grain wood, iconic furniture and statement lighting creates a warm space for family and guests.
Kitchen
The kitchen is designed with thoughtful functionality, integral to the experiential design of the house. It brings the gathering room to life, allowing people to stretch the experience of one room to the other. This allows those in the kitchen to be a part of the vinyl evenings, and those in the gathering room to be a part of weekend brunches with the chef. The balance and detailing of horizontal walnut, white counters and cabinets, and concaved agave colored tile are intentionally composed to create a modern, clean composition with a Southwest desert feel.
Dining + Multi-Purpose
Upon entering the home, you are greeted with a high-volume dining space backstopped by the central atrium full of natural light, foliage, and art. The tall, subdued orange colored wall is a focal back drop for the House on the Cliff painting. Adjacent to the dining space is the multi-purpose room with a feature original window and desk space centrally connected to the front entry yard patio.
Outdoor Living
The redefined exterior spaces offer the ability to lounge and enjoy both evening sunsets and morning sunrises. The front west-facing patio is a picturesque area to relax under the Mesquite tree and visit with passing neighbors. While its exterior space was previously designed in a Spanish-inspired Southwestern aesthetic, the home’s patio areas, landscape, paving, and lighting were all revised to now offer subtle cues of the striking, modern interior remodel awaiting inside.
